The Cognition in the Wild Lab's display table at Biology Open Day at the University of St Andrews! Nice examples of our current work which ranges from: vocal learning about predator threat levels in wild tits; spatial learning, foraging and memory in wild hummingbirds; to the role of cognition in nest-building behaviour in birds in the field and in the laboratory; and, the neural underpinnings of nest-building behaviour. At this event High School students from around Scotland visited the University to learn all about the opportunities available to students that study Biology at St Andrews. Several members of our group were present to speak with the students and answer their questions. |
