Frank Grasso invited me to visit with his research group in the Department of Psychology at Brooklyn College in New York. During my visit I was able to chat with his large team about their diverse work on fiddler crabs and nesting behaviour in monk parakeets. They also took me on a tour of the some of the monk parakeet nests around Brooklyn (pictured below). While I was there I also gave a seminar in the Graduate Psychology Colloquium of some our work on social learning and early life experience in nest building in zebra finches. Lots of the work I spoke about is part of Alexis Breen's PhD thesis, which she is completing in the next few months! Thanks for Frank, his team, and colleagues (and some that travelled from CUNY Queen College!) for a fantastic and intellectually stimulating visit.
